For the tenth consecutive year, Inkworks has been named the Non-Sports Card Manufacturer of the Year in the 17th annual Diamond Gem Awards from Diamond Comic Distributors. Inkworks has won the award more times than all other non-sport trading card manufacturers combined. Additionally, Inkworks won the award for Non-Sports Card Product of the Year for the second consecutive year for Firefly: The Complete Collection
“While all of Diamond’s suppliers and their products are key facets of the overall comics specialty market, the Gems allow retailers to honor those that have been especially beneficial in helping their businesses grow over the past year,” said Diamond President and CEO Steve Geppi. “The 2006 Gem Award winners represent the crème de le crème of what our industry has to offer.”
Gem Award nominees are selected by a panel of Diamond product specialists on the basis of their overall impact on the industry, while comics and other related merchandise were chosen on the merits of their quality, creativity and sales performance in 2006. Retailers were able to cast their votes with ballots contained with the February Previews Retailer Order Form, Previews on Windows, Previews for DOS and the Ordering page of Diamond Online’s Retailer Services Area.
