NC – September 7, 2001
– Inkworks and Twentieth Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising (Fox
L&M) announce the introduction of a new series of premium trading
cards based on the second season of Fox’s hit television series on The
WB, Angel. Inkworks’
all-new Angel: Season Two set is a sequel to the popular premier
card set that was introduced last year, and includes nine unique
autographed cards, the largest number ever included in an Inkworks
product. Autographed cards
include Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia) and a special dual autograph card
signed by Julie Benz (Darla) and Juliet Landau (Drusilla) as well as
seven other cards personally signed by stars of the show. The
Angel: Season Two base set of
90 all-new cards includes the always popular Episode Cards and “Demon
Compendium” plus new subsets “The Bad Ol’ Days” and “Behind
the Music.” In addition
to the base set, several levels of bonus cards will be made available
including a City of Angel Foil
Puzzle, L.A. Women Cards, an Angel Heart Card and four different
limited edition box loader cards. "In
its second season Angel established itself as a stand alone
series with its own fan base, increasing the demand for specialty
trading cards,” said Martha Modlin, executive vice president of
Inkworks.
“Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer may share
many fans, yet Angel’s unique look and feel lends itself very
well to trading cards with interesting characters, compelling story
lines and, most importantly, fans who are passionate about the show.” Bonus
cards details include: City
of Angel Foil Puzzle – Nine cards featuring Angel, Cordelia,
Wesley, and Gunn (Approximately 1:11 packs).
