RALEIGH, NC – November 20, 2000 – As Bart Simpson would say, “Wanna score some new Simpsons trading cards? NO PROBLEMO!” Inkworks announces the release of a new series of collectible trading cards celebrating a decade of “D’oh!” with one of the best known families on television: THE SIMPSONS.

THE SIMPSONS is the longest-running prime-time series currently on television with over 60 million weekly viewers worldwide. Inkworks was selected to present Bart, Homer and the rest of THE SIMPSONS to the world in a fun, interactive trading card format. The all-new 81-card set is packed with cool and collectible stuff including star autographs, episode highlights, character cards, “Simpsons Exposed” cards, a Homer tribute, classic quotes and more. Every pack also includes a Decoder Thingy that will enable collectors to decode Bart Simpson’s chalkboard sayings or trivia on the back of every card.

To add to the collectiblity of the set, there are special “Hobby Store Only” boxes that are loaded with bonus cards including:

Ø Cut Ups – Nine die-cut character cards (approximately 1:11 packs). Way Cool Man!!

Ø Nuclear Neon – Six nuclear power plant inspired neon plastic cards that seem to glow (approximately 1:17 packs).

Ø Diorama-Rama – Two paper and two plastic overlay cards that combine to create at least 12 mix-and-match puzzles (approximately 1:27 packs).

Ø Autographs – Five voice actors have autographed cards for the set: Nancy Cartwright (voice of Bart Simpson, Nelson Muntz, Todd Flanders, Ralph Wiggum, Kearney, Database), Yeardley Smith (voice of Lisa Simpson), Dan Castellaneta (voice of Homer Simpson, Grampa Simpson, Barney, Krusty the Clown, Itchy, Groundskeeper Willie, Mayor Quimby, Sideshow Mel, and many more), Harry Shearer (voice of Mr. Burns, Waylon Smithers, Ned Flanders, Otto, Principal Skinner, Dr. Hibbert, Lenny, Eddie and many more), Marcia Wallace (voice of Edna Krabappel).

THE SIMPSONS trading cards have a suggested retail price of $2.99 for a seven card pack. There are 24 packs in a security sealed display box.
